Virgin Active Sports Centre

The project places a large health club on a commercial plot, next to a roundabout and the vehicular access roads. The building is resolved as a compact prismatic volume that organises the sports and wellness programme within.

The façade is wrapped in a continuous skin of translucent metal mesh that filters daylight, blurs the scale of the container and gives it a light, recognisable image both by day and at dusk. Behind that grid, the glazed openings hint at the activity inside.

The brand identity is incorporated as a graphic accent on the corner, so that the building also works as a visual landmark from the avenue and the roundabout.
